Training Council
Bootle MEP Paul Nuttall is to become a board member of the North West Training Council.
Mr Nuttall was invited to the post after accepting an invitation to visit the Council’s premises on Dunnings Bridge Road, Netherton.
“As a former Hugh Baird College lecturer, I feel particularly strongly about vocational courses..
“If facilities like this existed for youngsters when I was at school, many of my class mates would have kept on the straight and narrow,” he said.
Bootle-born Mr Nuttall has a great interest in local education and is a keen advocate of vocational training.
“Not everyone is academic and it is wrong that those who aren’t should be written off by the education system. I am passionate about vocational training because of my background as a lecturer.
“We need more training of this sort. It is great for the community and I know that local people, particularly in Bootle, back it 100%.
“I was very impressed by my visit to the NWTC and have nothing but praise for their contribution,” said Mr Nuttall, Euro MP for the UK Independence Party.
“They are doing a first class job and I am thrilled at the honour of being a board member,” he added.
