Protect our NHS

Speaking at a UKIP event in Stoke, Paul Nuttall, UKIP leader and candidate in the Stoke Central by election said:

“Yes they may well have founded [the NHS] in 1948, but today they have come to resemble an abusive parent.

“I refuse to be hectored by a party that oversaw the Mid Staffs scandal. A scandal for which no one in senior management was sacked!

“I refuse to be lectured to by a party that allowed MRSA to become commonplace on our wards.

“I refuse to be accused of wanting to privatise the NHS by a party that actually did privatise 5% of our health service when they were in power.

“I also refuse to take criticism from a party whose two most prominent members of the House of Lords – Winston and Warner – have called for people to be charged to see their GP.

“And finally, I refuse to take lessons from a party that has saddled the NHS with a debt of nearly 80 billion pounds through the signing of crazy PFI contracts.  Continue reading Protect our NHS

Response to PM’s Brexit speech

PRESS RELEASE

UKIP LEADER COMMENTS ON THERESA MAY BREXIT SPEECH

UKIP leader Paul Nuttall, commenting on Theresa May’s Brexit speech, speaking from the European Parliament, Strasbourg, said:

“Some of it did sound like a UKIP conference speech and she’s now applying some of the things that we’ve been talking about for many, many years.”

“I am concerned that what we’re getting is some sort of slow-motion Brexit where she is speaking about interim measures, or a transitional period, which will only begin after April 2019. She has given no end date to these transitional measures.

“I challenge the Prime Minister; let’s have this all done and dusted before the next General Election in 2020. On a positive note I would probably give a 7 out of 10 today,” said Mr Nuttall, North West Euro-MP.  Continue reading Response to PM’s Brexit speech

LILYCROSS ASYLUM CENTRE WILL BE ‘ LILYGATE’ FOR HALTON COUNCIL

Following last night’s (Mon) stormy council meeting at which an application to convert a care home into an asylum seekers centre in Widnes was given the go-ahead opponents have pledged to contest the decision.

And UKIP leader Paul Nuttall, who had already urged Halton Borough Council to take into account comments by Jeremy Corbyn over the need for care homes, is supporting the protesters’ fight.

The former Lilycross care home housed 60 people before being closed down and owner Abid Chudary successfully applied for it to turned into an interim asylum seekers centre to be run by Serco on behalf of the Home Office.  Continue reading Widnes Care Home Row

Labour’s immigration betrayal

Paul Nuttall accuses Labour of betrayal on immigration

UKIP leader Paul Nuttall said:”Labour has betrayed millions of British families on immigration. It was Labour that threw open our jobs market to millions of Eastern Europeans with no transitional controls at all.

“What Jeremy Corbyn is committing himself to today is not even worthy of the term ‘sticking plaster’. For him to think stopping a few online job ads is going to have any real impact on the movement of people from the low wage economies of Eastern Europe is a joke.  Continue reading Labour’s immigration betrayal
